The 4th Annual SportsFest Event, presented by Saint Lukes Health Systems, is the most fun event of the summer where 600 guests join together to benefit the children served by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City and the Sports L•A•B™ (Lifestyle, Attitude, Behavior) Program.
The event features a cocktail party, auction, dinner, and a program featuring a conversation with former Kansas City Chiefs head coach and two-time NFL Coach of the Year, Dick Vermeil. After the program, ALL guests receive a ticket to walk across the parking lot to see the Royals take on the Blue Jays at 7:15 p.m.
All funds raised through SportsFest support the sports programs offered by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City. Club membership is the only access some youth will have to sports throughout the year. Most of our young people live in low-income neighborhoods where there are fewer parks, green spaces, bike paths, and swimming pools than in higher-income neighborhoods. Most of their parents are unable to afford league fees and memberships…so their children spend their time inside and sedentary. Children dedicated to sports are less likely to start using drugs and more likely to make better health choices.
