Coinciding with International Wrongful Conviction Day on October 2nd, 2018, the Champions of Justice fundraiser engages the community to learn about and support the Midwest Innocence Project (MIP), a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the investigation, litigation, and exoneration of the wrongfully convicted men and women in Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Iowa, and Nebraska. Freedom isn’t free; your donations expedite more exonerations. Donate at mightycause.com/team/CoJ2018
and learn more about the MIP at themip.org.
Wonderfuzz — A rock ’n’ roll band with a retroactive vibe, conjuring the best sounds from the 60s & 70s with a fresh spin and an invigorated spirit. Wonderfuzz is a band for music lovers.
Brandon Phillips & the Condition — In response to an unscratched, artistic itch, Brandon Phillips began writing & recording in 2015 with the help of his brothers Zach & Adam Phillips, and other various KC-area musicians. They flesh out a sound that is equal parts Get Happy-era Elvis Costello and early-Motown.
The Philistines — With a barrage of spaced-out, razor-sharp guitars, a grooving rhythmic onslaught, and melodic keyboard tapestries, The Philistines take vintage ideas and form them into modern psychedelic sonic movements. The six-piece group has made a name for itself with forceful, engaging live shows that match its provocative, bombastic rock sound.
