St. Louis-based jamgrass band, The Mighty Pines are taking the message of family farms, sustainable farming, the Farm Bill and all that lives in between on the road. The Missouri leg of the tour begins in KC at Little Piggy, Chef Michael Foust’s food truck hub located at 3014 Southwest Blvd.
American family farmers and ranchers are enduring the worst economic slide in generations. The Missouri Farmers Union, Missouri Coalition for the Environment and the Greater Kansas City Food Policy Coalition are calling on Congress to strengthen programs that support family farm agriculture, vibrant rural communities, a clean environment, and food insecure Americans.

Proceeds from this event benefit the Greater Kansas City Food Policy Coalition, EarthDance Organic Farm School, and Missouri Coalition for the Environment. The event is sponsored by the Missouri Farmers Union.
EarthDance operates an Organic Farm School on the site of the oldest organic farm west of the Mississippi. Based on a 14 acre farm in Ferguson, Missouri, the non-profit organization works at the intersection of healthy food production, farm-based education and community empowerment. With a vision of connecting more eaters and farmers alike to the soul of our soil, EarthDance facilitates delicious farm-based experiences with meaning. By convening chefs, musicians, farmers, and like-minded organizations to create a movement-building tour, we aim to promote family farms, healthy soil, and local food, and raise awareness of pesticide drift.
