Join the Midwest Innocence Project Student Organization of UMKC Law School for a night you'll never forget--our 2nd annual showing of «Mind of the Innocent.» The Show will feature several poems and a full length spoken word play, all of which has been created by and for wrongfully incarcerated individuals.

Doors Open at 6pm

From 6-7pm guests can:
* Purchase drinks and food from the adjoining restaurants that you are welcome to bring back into the theater.
* Take pictures in the Photo-booth with props/signs showing support for MIP Clients
* Purchase MIP merchandise including: a booklet with all the works featured in the show, MIP and MIPSO t-shirts, Vivid Expressions--a book written by MIP Client Ricky Kidd, MIP mugs, CDs featuring Ricky Kidd's spoken words spoken in his own voice, and more!!!
* Socialize with your fellow MIP/MIPSO supporters!

The Show will officially begin at 7pm
* ACT ONE will feature works by MIP Clients Rodney Lincoln, Antoine Young, Lamar Johnson, Ricky Kidd, and Michael Politte, all read aloud on stage by MIPSO law students. Act One will also feature Monica Gray reading a short piece she wrote about how Ricky Kidd's wrongful conviction has affected her personally.
* ACT TWO will feature a full length spoken word play (updated from last year's) written by Ricky Kidd. The play is about Ricky's wrongful conviction and incarceration which has dragged him continuously through a cycle of hope and despair. The play will star local KC actors and poets including Keith Bohannon, DeMarkcus Howell, RC Shivers, Sydney Ragsdale, Tim Marks, Adam Hoelscher, and Lauren Pope.

Tickets cost $15 and can be bought on Eventbrite (see link above) or at the door the night of! Merchandise can be purchased before the show, during intermission, and after the show.

Lastly, please note that the Kick Theater is technically located at 4010 Pennsylvania Ave, but there's no front door to the theater, so attendees will have to go in either through the Westport Coffeehouse and then down the stairs or through the Green Room and into it's back hallway!

Also note that though the theater is technically called «The Kick Comedy Theater» this will not be a comedy show!!!
