By now you've probably heard that yoga is being used to help veterans all across the world. Perhaps you've heard about it's calming affect on the body and mind, how it eases the symptoms of Combat Stress and PTSD, how it is preferred over medication for back pain and muscle tears.
But perhaps you haven't heard is that through yoga, veterans can begin to let go of worry and guilt, that it can help you sleep better or help you to live in the present moment. By utilizing meditation techniques, breathing practices and deep stretch, you can begin to move your body out of its trained stress response and into relaxation. It's time that you began to experience the benefits of yoga and what it can offer you.
Join Heather Rama, Yoga Therapist in Training as she guides you through a weekly practice. Having been trained exclusively in Therapeutic Yoga, she believes yoga is for every body. She specializes in working with students recovering from illness, injury and traumatic life events, allowing them to realign through this healing modality. Heather has two brothers who are retired military who's lives were turned upside down by PTSD and brought back into balance through yoga.
This is a donation class, $5-$10 suggested donation per person. Please come wearing comfortable clothes. Yoga mats are available for those who don't have one.
