Join us for a free community yoga event in Barkley Square at Park Place (115th Place and Ash Street in Leawood, Kansas) during the total solar eclipse on Monday, August 21, starting at 12:00 p.m.
We bring together an event of a lifetime with a practice of mindfulness and internal awareness. Combine this moment of deep internal stillness with the external connection of community all drawn together to witness a celestial experience that is literally out of this world. This is an all-levels practice of movement combined with breath. It is a perfect introduction to the practice of yoga, known to offer tremendous benefits for the body and mind. Experience the joy and calm of this practice in your own community. We will end the practice just before the peak of the eclipse.
Enjoy a lunch special before, after or during the eclipse at The Grille at Park Place and try their special Solar Eclipse drink! The Grille at Park Place is adjoined to Barkley Square so you’ll always be part of the fun! Or grab a to-go lunch from Pickleman's, BURGERFI or T.Loft: Tea and Juice Bar at Park Place for a picnic lunch in Barkley Square before viewing time.
Admission to the yoga practice will be open to the public and is complimentary, provided by Yoga Six Kansas City. A limited supply of complimentary solar eclipse viewing glasses will be provided by Park Place. Requested donations will be accepted in support of The Dream Factory of Greater Kansas City. However, due to limited supply, we highly recommend you bring your own certified glasses to ensure you have viewing capability.
UPDATE: Coupons for complimentary protein balls provided by T Loft, while supplies last.
