Mala — a sacred garland, 108 prayer beads, a timeless tool for transformation, a global gathering for unifying consciousness and action through yoga.
Vernal Equinox marks the moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator, signalling the end of winter and the arrival of spring. This sacred transition has been celebrated by people all over the world since ancient times. Traditionally yogi's honor the occasion by practicing 108 sun salutations (Surya Namaskar) in the form of moving meditation. We are beyond excited that Sonic Immersion will be guiding us with their incredible gongs and Tibetan bowls. Kelly Cirone is leading the asana practice and she will offer modifications so that you'll feel comfortable no matter how much yoga experience you have.
We're dividing the Mala into 4 rounds of 27 and afterward Sonic Immersion will guide us into an ocean of sound with a very special savasana. The entire practice should last about two hours (including breaks and meditation). You don't have to do all of the namaskars — going at your own pace and holding space is a vital component of the process. Moving together as a community in a reverent, intentional way on a special day is a really powerful experience. We hope you can make it.
Space is limited and we expect it to sell out. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased online or at the studio. bit.ly/2mnhNoC
